3 List Building Essentials For Entrepreneurs

Image result for EntrepreneurThe money is in the list.
Having an email list is a surefire way to make more sales.
You have probably heard it said online: the money is in the list.
And it is.
Having an email list is a surefire way to make more sales because the people on your email list are there because they like what you are talking about and they want to hear from you.
These same people are more than likely to purchase something from you.

The problem is that many authors and entrepreneurs have no idea on how to grow a list, or, how to cultivate that list once it has grown.
List building and nurturing is an ongoing process; and if done properly, could catapult your income.
There are three things you need to have in place if you plan to grow your list to a size that will spell massive profits for you.
You should aim to get at least 500 people on your list.
In the eyes of some internet marketers, that may seem like a small number, but, it is a good starting point for someone brand new to marketing a business online.
You don't want anybody on your list, your goal is to only get targeted people to subscribe to your list; people who have a problem that you have the solution to.
In the online marketing world, a list is crucial to the growth of your business.
And many of us who have internet based businesses, rely on paid email marketing platforms to host our lists, such as Aweber, Getresponse, Ontraport, and Infusion Soft.
Because we pay based on the number of subscribers, no one wants to waste their money having dead leads on their list.
What are dead leads?
Dead leads are people who never open your emails, or respond to any of your emails that ask them to submit a response.
Even if you use a free email marketing platform, such as MailChimp, you are still limited to only 2,000 subscribers.
That may seem like a lot, but, no one wants to waste time talking to a bunch of people who aren't completely interested in what you have to say.
You can't make any money from your list if your list never opens your messages.
But that is for another article.
In this article, I want to let you know the importance of having an email list.
I visit the sites of many authors and entrepreneurs on a daily basis, and one of the things I see is the lack of list building activities.
It could be because the concept of building a list is not really emphasized, especially among authors.
There are three things you need in order to build a list of people who are at least interested in whatever it is that you might be selling:
  1. A landing page
  2. An offer
  3. An opt-in form
When people come to your site, you need to offer them something so that you can get their name and email address. If they came to your site, it is obvious that you must have something that they want. Why not keep in touch with them, so that you can continue to share other things that they may be interested in, and eventually purchase.
Offering something for free, like sample chapters, video course, book trailer, audio books, whatever it may be, gives you the chance to collect the names and email addresses of people who you can now build a relationship with.
Remember, people buy from those that they know, like and trust.
If that person is you, they will buy what you are selling.
Your landing page can be a page on your website, or a simple opt-in form that you design in your email marketing software. It's simply the page that people will land on to learn that you have a free offer.
Then, of course, there is your actual offer.
What is something of value that you would be willing to give away for free, in exchange for the potential to earn more money by adding the person a list?
If you haven't already, and you are serious about being successful with your eBooks, or your own online business, I would strongly advise you to start building an email list.
The sooner you start, the better.
